Me so happy again!

Today I got my computer back from the maintenance. :) I was quite surprised that it took only few days from them to fix it. Anyway it’s summer time so I bet they aren’t too busy at the moment. I haven’t tested my computer yet, but I might have to take back some comments I said in my earlier post about Fujitsu-Siemens laptops. This time they changed the entire motherboard so maybe it was the source of all my troubles. Let’s hope so… the guarantee is still only valid for few months on. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

I think you were right the first time. Bought an 8830D in 2003, the battery lasted 3 months (just out of warranty for batteries apparently) then died. Paid £90 for a new one, then the power cable died. Paid £70 for a new one (also a 3 mnth warranty) then a month later the new battery died. The power cable then died. I called tech support but as I was in month 14 they refused to help. In year two the thing overheats constantly.

Siemens are just rubbish, paid £1500 for their best laptop and they don’t even acknowledge that 3 breakdowns in a year is a problem!

Finally, if you check the Siemens boards you will see that the model has a whole host of issues that cause problems, especially battery related, that the support people ignore.
